Born and raised in Saskatoon, SK, Dave studied philosophy and law at the University of Saskatchewan in the 1980s. A series of happy accidents led him from law, to restaurant manager, to naval officer and finally to broadcasting. He was the morning host at C95 FM in Saskatoon from 1993 to 2011, boasting the largest listening audience in Saskatchewan. In a mid-life crisis, he moved to Ottawa in 2011 and opened The Flying Banzini (a restaurant in Wellington West). But, the siren song of academia and journalism increased and he set aside his budding career as a restaurateur to pursue a Master of Journalism degree at Carleton University. A superlative story teller, experienced multi-media communicator – print, radio, social media, digital, and television.
