Love to hear from and know who is listening
Have you ever thought it would be like to have a crystal ball that you could see into the future with? How would it change your life if you knew the future? What would you do if you knew that in your future you would loose your job, or your marriage would fall apart. What if you found out that one of your children or grandchildren would have an car accident that would take their life. Finally what if your crystal ball showed you that you would develop cancer and have intense pain and suffering. If we knew our precise future, it might make today’s decisions easier. But I wonder if that precise knowledge of the future would simply weigh us down with doubts about other decisions we could make and other paths we could take — resulting in the same but different and equally difficult, emotionally stressful results.
You may not be aware of it but there is a way to know the future, read the bible. Prophets in the bible have accurately predicted the future many times. Daniel predicted that four world empires would successively arise over the span of hundreds of years— Babylon, then Medo-Persia, followed by Greece, and finally Rome. The prophet Micah lived over 700 years before Christ. God communicated a specific future event to this prophet, the birthplace of Jesus Christ the city of Bethlehem.
Micah 5:2 NIV But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times
The prophet Zechariah predicted the Messiah would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver, which was fulfilled when Judas betrayed Jesus. The prophet accurately described the exact number of pieces 30, not 29, and that the money would be of silver, not gold. He foretold that the money would be thrown in the sanctuary, not somewhere else. He also prophesied that Jesus would be pierced, which was fulfilled when the soldiers pierced His side with a spear. I have not even begun to scratch the surface of all the biblical prophecies and their fulfillment's. I know what you are thinking though. All these things happened thousands of years ago and I want to know what future beyond today has in store for me, my family and my loved ones.
If you open the bible and read the book of Revelation, it goes something like this. There will be wars, famines, disease, epidemics and heavenly signs that will alert the world to some sort of crisis. Then the Antichrist, a political ruler, will establish control over the whole earth. He'll be backed up by a religious ruler, who's called the false prophet. Together they establish a unified social, economic and religious system that dominates the world. The only thing opposing them are the people of God and two prophets, they're called the two witnesses, who appear in Jerusalem, and begin to speak against this power.
Revelation 11: 3 & 6 NIV And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.
The last half of the book is about the overthrow of this system. The beast, the false prophet, who has the number 666, the Antichrist, are overthrown. Most of them are very cosmic. Asteroids hitting the earth. The water turning to blood and that sort of thing, until finally, Jesus Christ returns as a warrior on a white horse and sets up the kingdom of God. So, now that you know the future, what are you going to do with this knowledge? If you place your faith in God, no matter what your
