Love to hear from and know who is listening

Have you ever felt like you were drowning in a sea full of distraction and anxiety, from all the day to day tasks you must get done. When you experience an overwhelming moment, it can feel all consuming. It can cause intense emotions, that at the time may feel like they are to challenging for you to over come. I don't often feel this way often but when I do I just want to ran away to a place of solitude and silence. As a country boy one thing that provides me with a sense of peace and relaxation is to be in nature. To be surrounded by God's creation. I especially enjoy walking to the top of the hill on the back of my property and enjoying the view from on high. From the top of the hill behind my home I can see for miles. In the spring when everything is green and in the fall when the trees are full of color it is especially beautiful. According to psychologists the view from a high location provides us with a sense of security and refuge.

 Psalm 33:13 NIV From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind.

God knows all things and sees all things. God does not see as man sees! He sees much more than you and I see. There is a folk tale from India about 6 blind men and an elephant illustrates well how our limited perspective really impacts how we comprehend the world around us. Long ago six old men lived in a village in India. Each was born blind. The men were curious about many of the stories they had heard, about elephants. So the men were led by friends to an elephant. The first blind man reached out and touched the side of the huge animal. An elephant is smooth and solid like a wall, he declared! The second blind man put his hand on the elephant's trunk. An elephant is like a giant snake, he announced. The third blind man felt the elephant's pointed tusk. This creature is as sharp and deadly as a spear. The fourth blind man touched one of the elephant's four legs. He said, It is like a large tree. The fifth blind man felt the elephant's giant ear. I believe an elephant is like a huge fan. The sixth blind man gave a tug on the elephant's tail. Why, this is nothing more than a piece of old rope, he scoffed.

As a teenager I thought I knew everything, just ask my parents! But as you can see each of us have a limited view of the world around us, but God knows all and sees all. God is omnipotent meaning he is all powerful. God is omniscient or all knowing and God is omnipresent meaning he is everywhere all the time! God knows the end from the beginning. He always sees the big picture. His perspective is complete and perfect.

 Isaiah 43:2-3 NIV When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;

So even though you may not be able to see the forest for all the trees surrounding you, when you experience that emotionally overwhelming moment just remember nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes. Just remember when you are standing on a hilltop and you think you are in control of everything you still have a very limited view point, but nothing is out of sight for God or beyond the control of our awesome God!!!

 Job 28:24 NIV for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.
