Philippians 1:21, NIV

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

The apostle Paul wrote today's Scripture from prison with his trial and future in uncertainty over his preaching the gospel. He was saying, in effect, "If I live, I'm going to give God praise. If I die, I'm going to give God praise. Either way, I'm going to stay in peace because I know God's got this. He is in control."

Some of the things that are worrying and frustrating you now, causing you to lose sleep, would all change if you have Paul's perspective that God's got this. Sometimes we're playing God. We're trying to manipulate the boss to promote us, to make ourselves get well, to make the contract go through. As long as we're trying to force things to happen, being upset and worried, then God steps back. You have to take your hands off it and say, "God, I know You've got this. I'm not going to worry and live uptight about it. I trust Your timing, and I trust Your ways. My life is in Your hands."

Father, thank You that You are God, and I don't have to try to play Your part. Thank You that You are in control, and my life and my situations are in Your hands. I'm going to stay in peace and trust You to work things out for the best. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
