(Isaiah 45:2–3, NIV)
“I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron…so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”
The prophet Isaiah said that God is going before you and will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron, meaning the things that have held you back for years. Addictions, lack, depression, and insecurity may have been in your family for generations. Thoughts will tell you, “Just accept it. This is just who you are.” God is saying, “I’m about to put an end to what’s holding you back.” That depression is not staying in your family line, that addiction is not going to keep being passed down, the struggle and lack are not your destiny. This is a new day. The God who spoke worlds into existence is breaking gates of defeat, chains of bondage, chains of depression.
It’s good to remember the great things God has done, but God doesn’t want you to live off of yesterday’s victories. He is about to give you some new evidence, some fresh victories that you will know that He is your God and has summoned you by name.
“Father, thank You that You are the God who breaks the bronze gates that have held me back. Thank You for all the great things You have done for me and for all the new breakthroughs You are about to give me. I believe that You have summoned me by name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
