Romans 12:2, NLT
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God
transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
When you look at a caterpillar, there's nothing about it that
indicates it's going to ever get off the ground and fly. It has no wings. But
there's something programmed into the caterpillar that at a certain time, it
will develop wings. One day, it does what looked impossible. It turns into a
beautiful butterfly and soars through the air.
All of your circumstances may tell you that you'll never fly. You
don't have the training, the experience, or come from the right family.
Thoughts will tell you, "You'll always struggle in your finances. You'll
always be addicted." No, get ready. Your wings are coming. In Romans 12,
the word that the apostle Paul uses for "transform" is the same word
used for how caterpillars "metamorphose" into butterflies. You may be
in the caterpillar stage now, but God created you to soar, to set new
standards, to take new ground, and to go further than you've imagined. Get your
mind filled with what God says about you, and you'll get your wings.
Father, thank You for the transformation that You are working out
in my life as I change the way I think about myself. Thank You that I can get
my thinking in line with what You say about me in Your Word. I believe that You
are transforming me to soar. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
