Description

Welcome to the Guilbault Girls Show where you will have the opportunity to hear from mothers, fathers, siblings, and individuals themselves about their journey of living with a disability.

In this episode I had the pleasure of interviewing Derek Flores from Zappos Adaptive.  Derek Flores began his career at Zappos in 2008 as a member of their world-renowned Customer Loyalty Team. He came to the company with an apparel background, and within a year found himself as the newest addition to the rapidly growing Clothing Merchandising Team.

Over the years, Derek has held many roles within that merchandising team: copywriter, buyer, site merchandiser, and stylist to name a few. In 2015, while managing both the Denim and Men’s Apparel teams, he was asked to partner with a new team- a team that would focus on footwear and apparel solutions for people with disabilities. Now known as Zappos Adaptive, Derek is applying his experience, knowledge, and passion for inclusion as their Lead Merchandiser.

Derek’s roots are found in Colorado, where he grew up in Pueblo before going on to graduate from Colorado State University with a BA in History. Derek’s passion for trends and dedication for inclusivity, coupled with his years of experience at Zappos, make him an insightful and enthusiastic speaker regarding Zappos Adaptives’ commitment to providing customers with fashionable and functional products that make getting dressed easier.

When Derek is not working hard curating, styling, and sharing the impact Zappos Adaptive is having on the retail world, you can find him at home with his wife Natalie (and his dogs Anna and Katy) rooting for his beloved Colorado sports teams from afar.
