Have you ever told, or been told, a half-truth? Of course! It's a technicality, but we didn't actually lie. Or did we? Deception isn't leaving out all of the truth. It's leaving out some of the truth to communicate something other than the full picture.
Unfortunately, there are sentiments, statements, and theologies within the religious scope that have done the same. They may seem harmless on the surface, but underneath is dangerous implication. Throughout this series, we will explore several of these common "Christianese" statements that may be half-truths or complete lies, either way, they are very manipulative and deceptive. They need to be thought out, addressed, and corrected.
