Gen. 19:23–29
Isa. 66:15–24
Matt. 11:20–24
Rev. 21:5–8
The late J. I. Packer wrote 50 years ago, “The fact is that the subject of divine wrath has become taboo in modern society, and Christians by and large have accepted the taboo and conditioned themselves never to raise the matter." If that was 50 years ago, the situation has only gotten worse.  Given that  the Bible speaks about God’s wrath frequently and that we say that we love and believe the Bible, then we must embrace this teaching. Otherwise, we not only make ourselves out to be liars, but we rob Christ of His victory—for, what he suffered was nothing less than the fury of God’s wrath against sin.
