The creation of Eve and the first marriage in Genesis 2 challenges all of us with God’s categories for companionship. It teaches us to look to the Lord Jesus Christ and to find in him the key to a godly union. What is that key? Self-denial, seen in the Savior first, and then followed in obedience to his call.
