It’s always hard when something has run its course and needs to end. In this passage, Jesus demonstrates that the Temple—the place of Israelite religion—has run its course. Christ has come, the gospel is being proclaimed, and nowall people are welcomed to worship, especially worship marked by faith, prayer, and forgiveness.
