Listen

Description

We maybe have had seasons where we clung unto God's words in times of trouble, but how about when everything seems to be at peace and going well?  Sue and Nancy discuss that very issue as they answer this question from our listener.

"I have had some really difficult seasons to navigate through in life.  I have found that in the worst of those moments, was when my need for Christ, my desperation to hear from Him was the greatest.  Although I wouldn't want to relive those really tough times, I miss that urgency to meet with Christ.  When things are moving along without a major crisis, I find myself having to work so hard to set aside quiet time, or to prioritize my time with Jesus.  Thoughts on how to 'keep the fire' alive in the calm and not just in the storm?"

Verses Mentioned in the Show:

Isaiah 6
1 Corinthians 2:3
Psalm 27:8

AW Tozer quote Nancy alluded to:

"I venture to suggest that the one vital quality which they [biblical saints] had in common was spiritual receptivity. Something in them was open to heaven, something which urged them Godward. Without attempting anything like a profound analysis I shall say simply that they had spiritual awareness and that they went on to cultivate it until it became the biggest thing in their lives. They, different from the average person in that when they felt the inward longing they did something about it. They acquired the lifelong habit of spiritual response. They were not disobedient to the heavenly vision. As David put it neatly, 'When thou saidst, seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek."
