This week, we have a special guest—Miriam Cobb from Empty Frames Initiative. Empty Frames Initiative's mission is to empower youth as they transition out of foster care with a program to give them counseling, life skills, access to the gospel, training in interpersonal skills, and connection with the community for support. With Christmas around the corner, it's an excellent opportunity for us to reflect on how we can be hands and feet of Christ to those suffering around us.
Join Sue and Miriam's discussion in answering this week's question:
"There are so many people suffering today. I see homeless people on the streets, crime in my city with the youth is increasing every day, racial tensions are on the rise, loneliness and hopelessness is sky-rocketing from the pandemic. Stories of increased poverty, drug abuse, gun violence is constantly in the news. Not to mention all the suffering overseas of displaced people and terrorism. As a Christian and as a church, I know we are to care for the orphans, the widows, the homeless, and the poor. But I don't know what I can do to help. Sometimes I just want to bury my head in the sand like an ostrich because I feel overwhelmed. What should my response be as a Christian? And what can my church do?"
