Have you ever found yourself saying,
I used to be able to remember so much more
Once I’ve gotten back to where I was 3 years ago, then we’ll be in good shape
I feel like I need to reset, get back to the person I was when I first started
I have so much less energy now, once I can get back to myself
This is the plight of us all. Looking back to the idealized version of ourselves from the past, and asserting that as soon as we get back to that spot, we will feel like we have a firm foundation and can use that as a springboard.
I said those same things for 10 years. 10 years I spent looking to the past. Until Alex pointed out that I really seemed to have a love affair going on with the past that made it very hard to look forward to the future.
That stopped me short.
Could it be possible that the very steps I was taking to grow were the ones holding me back? You’ve been listening to this podcast long enough to know that the answer to that question was YES. And much to my surprise, I discovered that I wasn’t alone.
There are an ARMY of people (you among them) who feel a sense of loss about:
👉 Who they were before their illness
👉 How much time they had before
👉 Their sense of identity from before they had kids
👉 The energy/vision/idea of their past selves
And created a story around which their future begins AFTER they get back to a baseline from the past.
What if you don’t have to wait? What if your future is LITERALLY right in front of you waiting to happen, and all it takes is ONE SMALL HEAD TURN?
Don’t believe me? Come check out the podcast today and put it to the test!
Note: This is a LIVE recording of the Stop Shoulding all Over Yourself podcast with a Q&A after! Please ask your questions while we’re recoding and we’ll go through them at the end!
