When we say science in relation to our health, fundamentally we mean to say, “it's not about blind belief or faith”. To this day this is considered a very important statement to make all the time, to remind people. When we approach our well being rationally, we think in terms of certain principles, fundamentals, a deep and vast understanding. The dos and don'ts all emerge from it. This approach is actually ancient and a lot of this work has been done in Ayurveda based on observation and experiments over thousands of generations and constant evaluations from practitioners and updation of texts.
‘Principles’ also means, a lay person can understand the subject. The approach of the ancients is for us to be aware of our constitution, nature, what is good and bad, and in this way stay healthy without having to visit the physician. Maybe a little thought is required to tune in to this approach as we are not trained in this way in modern education. But this approach is about knowing what I need, what is important to me, and once we start doing this, we start feeling good about it. Because we are designed to enjoy the attention and care we can bestow on ourselves and when we learn to just live and be according to our innate nature, the joy is deeper and lasting.
In this blog we understand an important principle as we experience it in our daily lives.
