Can you be "blessed" and "poor" at the same time? Certainly the world thinks not, or at least not in any meaningful way. So too the prosperity gospel pushes us to think of ourselves as at least potentially rich instead, but the VC opens the Word to show what Jesus was teaching in this beatitude.
