Jen & Todd tackle how to increase business. Whether you're an owner, employee, or independent hair pro, this episode will help.
Step 1 is to work on your mindset. If your attitude is off, nothing will work.
What are you willing to do to create what you want?
How uncomfortable are you willing to get?
Answering takes honesty and reflection.
If you're expecting more than you're willing to put in, you're setting yourself up for failure.
Things people don't want:
Things people do want:
- Consistency
- A solution to a problem, challenge, or pain point
- An emotion
- Simple
Strategies for increasing business, sales, or profit:
- First, know your NUMBERS!
- Focus, you must put a focused effort into whatever approach you attempt.
- Mindset, I know we mentioned it already, but your mindset is HUGE!
- What separates you from the competition? What are your strategic differences?
- Increase your prices. You need a plan, though. And your plan can't be to copy someone else.
- Get more clients. It seems simple, but you should constantly be working on getting more clients. Books closed isn't a good strategy for increasing business.
- Focus on the clients you already have.
- Marketing. You should learn the basics.
- Follow up with current clients for feedback. What are you doing well, and what can you improve?
- Reduce costs. Constantly evaluate your ROI (return on investment) in the different areas of your business.
- Streamline your processes. Make things easy for potential clients.
- Avoid losing money. Pay attention to things like redo's, etc.
- Host events.
- Create education.
Stop trying to use a blunt-force approach with your business. It doesn't work. As an owner, you can't simply increase your time behind the chair whenever you need more money. You must build a team.
3 Steps for Owners to build and maintain a team:
- Show them a plan.
- Understand what THEY want.
- Create opportunities based on what they're looking for and accelerate the timeline.
