Shelly Houser is a unique guest who started in simulation much differently from my other guests. As a congenital hemipelvectomy amputee, Shelly started out as an SP for St. Luke's hospital, Jefferson University, and Villanova University. She has a bachelor's in Media Studies and a Master's in Human Services. Having worked on television shows such as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Sprout TV, Shelly is no stranger to script supervising and writing. After 10 years of professional and a lifetime of personal experience, Shelly has launched her consulting company, Inclusive Consulting, LLC, where she collaborates and consults with teaching institutions and businesses seeking to improve their knowledge, protocols, and best practices. Shelly also has produced, hosted, and edited Life Beyond the Label podcast. She previously carried out the same function on DisAbilty Talks for two years. National Council on Independent Living and The Ralph Trainor advocacy awards, as well as a presenter at several regional and national conferences.
