Cindy Niles is an activist working to educate people about the juggernaut of digitization that is taking place under our noses. She lives in the state of Victoria, Australia where it appears much of the beta testing of these technocratic control systems has been occurring with an authoritarian brutality. A surveillance & control apparatus that is being rolled out under the guise of Smart Cities and remote learning. Facial recognition software is an integral part of this "geo-fencing" that is literally corraling people into hyper-surveilled prison spaces.
We had a wide ranging conversation that also included some discussion on how best to resist this tide - its all about relocalizing and taking back control of local governance.
