Season 2 of the Artiest Spotlight podcast opens with a discussion with Caitlin Cary a fiber artist creating what she calls "Needleprints". Needleprints representations of subjects created by piecing and sewing together scraps of fabric.
Caitlin is an artist, singer, songwriter, violinist, dog mom & Skillet spouse living in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In recent years Caitlin turned toward the visual art, and in July of '15 began a six-month residency at Artspace, a downtown Raleigh studio collective and arts education organization, where she spend five years as a resident artist. In March of 2021, Caitlin and her screen print artist husband, Skillet, signed a lease on a small gallery/studio space in the historic Oakwood neighborhood of Raleigh, named The Pocket. The gallery displays her needleprints and Skillet’s screen prints, along with a carefully curated selection of works by some of the area’s finest artists and makers. the gallery is located at 222 N.
