Ordained Minister Dennis Hall and his guest Jay Powell, Senior Pastor of Church at the Beach in Panama City Beach, Florida discuss the teachings of Scripture that require Christians to be forgiving people and how failure to do so impacts the relationship with Jesus. A wide variety of causes of hatred and bitterness are addressed. Their discussion recognizes that almost everyone experiences temporary periods of an unforgiving spirit but the professed Christians who choose to remain unforgiving should be troubled by 1 John 4:20, "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen." The prison that one with an unforgiving spirit is confined is described. Before ending this podcast with prayer, the steps necessary to cure the bitter heart are described.
