Ordained minister Dennis Hall and guest George Whirley, Pastor, New Creations Restoration Church and Prison Ministry, Indianapolis, IN discuss the prison experience. Pastor Whirley shares his personal prison experience. Both who are experienced in prison ministries review prison pain, including loss of freedoms, deprivation of things we take for granted, loss of personal security, and separation from family, friends, and the outside world. The psychological, emotional, and spiritual effects of incarceration are reviewed; delusions, paranoia, claustrophobia, depression, nightmares, insomnia and increased hostility. These effects are frequently dealt with inside and outside prison with substance abuse. Jesus gave us the example of visiting and ministering to prisoners. A person's past does not dictate their future when they allow Jesus to free them from the bondage of sin. This episode is uplifting and full of hope for those incarcerated and families of those who have experience the pain of prison.
