Dr. Dennis Hall begins this podcast by reviewing the history of the Fourth of July celebrations in America, known as Independence Day. He reminds listeners that Americans are celebrating the 13 colonies’ adoption of the Declaration of Independence. The first organized celebration of Independence Day occurred on July 4, 1777, in Philadelphia. Since that time Americans have continued this tradition and the Fourth of July became a federal holiday in 1941. He points out that our nation was founded upon the idea that God created human beings to be free. Dr. Hall points out that freedom is not just based on the country where one lives. When Christians are singing about being shackled by a heavy burden or being chained and set free, they are talking about spiritual slavery. The four options for people addicted to sin are reviewed along with the remedy for liberation. The good news is that faith in Jesus Christ frees us from the death we deserve for sinning against God. Only Jesus can break the bonds of spiritual slavery and lead us to true freedom. Can be seen on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/LZLFnoyKNPE
