“People have their personalities, there’s professional culture and there’s an organizational culture. Everything plays a role, but you can say national culture runs the deepest and it’s more or less in place by the age of 10. So it really runs deep.”
In this episode, Jerome and Julienne talk to Pernilla Rorso, who specializes in national and organizational culture from a performance perspective. She is the managing director of the Copenhagen office and senior business consultant at Hofstede Insights, and is a PhD fellow. She talks about how we can quantitatively measure national culture using six dimensions and how national culture in the collective programming of humans is stronger than any other programming. National culture is a strong determinant of how people will come into an organization and organizational culture, and Pernilla talks about what this means for multicultural teams and organizations.
Listen to this episode to learn more about cultural values, organizational practices, and how to ensure that organizational culture supports organizational strategy, regardless of the (national) environment.
