We pick up with Elijah in silence on Mt. Carmel
God has brought him to this climatic moment as a way to reach his people.
As the prophets of Baal dance and shout, Elijah's confidence remains grounded in his faith in the Lord.
In contrast to Baal's silence, the fire of the Lord flashes down from heaven and burns up not only the sacrifice and altar, but the water it was drenched in.
As he is facing overwhelming odds, Elijah is standing in confidence of what He knows the Lord has asked him to do and in the belief that God can do the impossible.
We can do the same.
We are all familiar with desperate situations, listen in and learn how standing in Elijah's footprints may just grow our own confidence.
