I’ve shared in the last two episodes about our family trip to Niagara Falls but have yet to speak of any encounters with the falls themselves. This week, we finally make it to the falls!
After our initial amazement at the splendor…and speed…and sound of the many waters rushing over the falls, we began to see our limitations. A number of possibilities were impeded by various factors.
The final morning as I awoke, I realized that we were missing out. By grumbling about the opportunities unavailable to us, we were failing to embrace the full experience of what we did have.
I insisted that we make one more trek to the Falls.
I invited my family to sit on the benches and close their eyes and to open themselves up to experience where we were. We simply sat in the majestic presence and listened and felt.
