Being credible as a speaker or a person of influence means showing your audience you have their best interests at heart, that you are knowledgeable...
Lead by example. Your strongest testimonial is your own personal example. You must first and foremost lead yourself and show behaviors of trust–only then can others rely on you.
Say what you mean and mean what you say. Build up a reputation of being direct and forthright, so people don’t have to guess at what you’re trying to say. (This doesn’t grant a license to be unkind, though.)
Show commitment. When you honor what you say, people will trust you. If you cannot keep a commitment, be open and honest about the reason and try to find a way to make it up to the other party.
