The Sweet 16 round of this year’s NCAA tournament is a perfect example as to why this competition is referred to as March Madness. All of the #1 and #2 seeds advanced to the Sweet 16 but a few of them were sent home before the Elite 8. With that in mind, tonight only one #1 seed will be playing when UConn take on #3 seed Illinois. In the other Elite 8 matchup tonight, #Alabama will take on #6 Clemson. On Sunday afternoon, the best matchup of the Elite 8 has #1 Purdue taking on #2 Tennessee. Finally we wrap things up with a revenge match that sees ACC tournament champs NC State try to continue their Cinderella run when they take on their fierce in-state rivals Duke. The last game that Duke lost this season was to NC State but this time a trip to the Final Four is on the line.
