Description

This week, we discuss interracial, intercultural, and intertribal marriages and how to cope with marrying outside one’s background. According to US Census data, in 2021, 34% of adults age 15 and over had never been married, up from 23% in 1950. The estimated median age to marry for the first time was 30.4 for men and 28.6 for women in early 2021, up from ages 23.7 and 20.5, respectively, in 1947. The percentage of married-couple households that are interracial or interethnic grew across the United States from 7.4 to 10.2 percent from 2000 to 2012-to 2016. We discuss challenges, tricks, and tips on how to stay happily married to your lover, who sometimes may be very different from you.
