On this week's episode, we are switching medical fields and are joined by future Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Melissa Skinner. Melissa earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga, where she decided to pursue her passion of helping others and committed herself to the medical lifestyle. She attends St. Augustine University where she is in her clinical rotations of Occupational Therapy school and will finish up her doctorate's degree later this year. She has worked extremely hard to overcome lots of challenges, such as Cerebral Palsy, and pursues everyday to enlighten people of the stigmas and hardships that come along with it. Melissa does a fantastic job of explaining the differences of OT and PT (Physical Therapist), the process of earning her doctorate degree, field stories, as well as personal life experiences that helped her along her journey.
