Gabbie Truppi attempted to follow the “traditional” path most of her peers were following - going to college. But after only a semester, Gabbie’s gut told her this wasn’t the right path for her. After dropping out and moving home, she worked and took classes locally while she gave some serious thought to her next steps. It was during that time of reflection that one small comment from her mother unknowingly gave her the “permission” she was unconsciously yearning for to follow her dreams. A few short months later - at the young age of 20 - Gabbie officially opened her ice cream truck, Scoops on Wheels.
One pandemic and three years later, Gabbie has not only survived as a new small business, but thrived - expanding her business to now also include a storefront and multiple employees. She may be young, but she’s learned to rely on her instincts and community to continue growing her ice cream shop. Gabbie shares more about her journey, what it takes to be a leader and what sweet treats she’s dreaming up next.
