How do you push through when something horrible happens? Chasta Hamilton shares her story of perseverance and how it has led her to life as an arts entrepreneur.

Orphaned as a child, Chasta found comfort in the creativity, play and catharsis of the performing arts. She believes that everyone has the power to reach their fullest potential and disrupt the status quo in an empowering and inspiring way.

Fresh out of college, Chasta started her career by opening a dance studio. But where it gets a little more interesting is when she decided to go against the grain; she instead went with her gut and decided to exit the competitive dance industry. From there, she created a non-profit, Girls Geared for Greatness, a TEDx talk (You Weren’t Built to Break) and has written two books (Trash the Trophies and Handle the Horrible).
