In the early morning hours of September 17, 2009 24 year old Mitrice Richardson disappeared after being released from the Malibu/Lost Hills Los Angeles County Sheriff’s station where she had been for several hours the evening before. She had been unable to pay her $89 dinner bill at Geoffrey’s restaurant in Malibu. 11 months later Mitrice’s remains would be found in Dark Canyon, but her family and friends would still be left with more questions than answers. How did Mitrice die? What was happening in the lead up to her disappearance? And why was she released from the Sheriff’s station at 12 in the morning with no car, no phone, no money and no way to get home?
