Forest Park in Portland, Oregon is one of the largest urban forests in the United States, covering over 5,000 acres of land. The park offers a welcome, quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, without actually having to leave city limits. Within the park there are beautiful old growth trees, winding creeks and lots of wildlife. Forest Park is a welcome sanctuary for hikers, bikers and explorers. While the park is a beautiful, peaceful place, it has also been the scene of some grisly crime, and in the late 1990s, it was a dumping ground for the victims of a serial killer.
