Description

In the 1960s Glasgow, Scotland was a miserable place to live. 1960s-era footage shows crumbling brick buildings, broken windows, smoke billowing from nearby factories and open sewers just feet away from childrens’ play areas. Many of the residents were living in poverty and just trying to survive from one day to the next. The one bright spot in this sea of misery was dancing (much like the tiny town in Footloose). Young people loved to go out to one of the city’s many dance halls on the weekends to dance the night away and forget their troubles. But that one bright spot suddenly went dark in the late 1960s when a serial killer began targeting young women he met at the Barrowlands Ballroom dance hall.
