Description

Marilyn Moss Rockefeller was born at the end of the Depression in West Virginia, where  there was still a great deal of poverty.  Yet she was raised with a wealth of values that made her a businesswoman who built her success on integrity and resilience.

In this excerpt from a longer interview, the author of "Mountain Girl: From Barefoot to Boardroom" talks about her childhood and how her dad and grandparents instilled in her the wherewithal to be a success in life.

Marilyn's father was a Seabee in the Navy, and he taught his daughter the can-do attitude he'd learned in the service; her grandparents modeled their values of sharing with others and respecting everyone.

You can purchase a copy of "Mountain Girl" directly from the publisher, Islandport Press in Yarmouth, Maine.  It's eminently readable and also available on Amazon, Kindle and from your local bookstore.

Hope you enjoy this segment of Marilyn's inspiring story. If you'd like to hear more, please check out the second excerpt about Marilyn saving a failing business.

Please share this episode with others who believe in rising to a challenge while learning, growing and living by one's values.
