This is an excerpt from a 39-minute interview with Dr. Elise Fillpot, who developed an online series of courses based on her highly researched project "Bringing History Home."
The courses are focused toward children and their parents, and all have to do with social justice. Each one is a robust course of study. For example, Ancient Africa through Reconstruction has 77 lessons, including three providing Parent Instructor Preparation, along with a resources section.
There are videos, maps and other visuals, and links to outside resources including, for instance, a link to the Bill of Rights in Simple Language, which takes you to the site of the American Civil Liberties Union:

Another course, on Resisting Jim Crow, has a link to an explanation of those laws:

The History School also teaches U.S. Immigration History; Indigenous Resistance to Genocide in the United States; U.S. Industrialization History; and U.S Environmental History.
In this brief segment, Elise answers my question about the importance of learning history.
