Meaghan Milner Reed is an accomplished artist who makes visually delightful works inspired by the natural world.
These works also have a deeper purpose. Meaghan's colorful depictions of plant life and butterflies are meant to feel alive and hopeful. And she wants them to offer a "literal common ground" for people to connect and build relationships with one another.
This short episode with Meaghan includes a brief segment from an interview from a couple of years ago. In it, she offers insight into how she came to create uplifting art.
For Meaghan, it all began in grad school. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Kent State University. You can check out her artwork online by visiting meaghanmilnerreed.com.
Also, if you happen to be in Northeast Ohio anytime soon, you can visit the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s second-floor Perennial Gallery to see her current installation, which concludes June 10, 2023.
Many thanks to Jonathan the Producer for his work as audio engineer on the original interview with Meaghan, and to Mike Villegas, owner of Area 67 Recording Studio , who did the audio engineering on this episode.
