Marta is a pet consultant with a primary focus on dogs. Marta is committed to bringing people and their pets together in the most harmonious experience possible. In this episode we talk about the importance of pet preparedness. We discuss thoughtful assessment prior to acquiring your dog, readiness and best practices when caring for man's best friend.
We also talk about some of the health benefits in owning a dog and the different types of positive reinforcement training instead of negative language training.
Marta is a life-long animal lover, lecturer and an educator. Her background is Business Management and Healthcare. For many years, she has served the Houston community by working in the healthcare industry where she had the opportunity to lead several workshops and classes on improving the quality of life through nutrition and a healthier lifestyle. Inspired by her love for dogs, she created PAWSITIVE RELATIONS - an organization whose mission is to support the well-being and the relationship with our beloved pets.
Marta believes that a “Pawsitive Relation is about understanding, trust and respect”. Likewise - a training based in positive reinforcement methods creates a stronger bond between dog and owner, resulting in a more confident, happier and better-behaved dog. Likewise, she is a firm advocate for education as a key component to address the overpopulation of homeless animals and all the many problems that originate from it.
