Description

In this episode, Meg Benson talks about her early life which had its challenges, and disruptedattachments.  Enthusiasm and choice were strong features for overcoming adversity. Even though Meg moved out of home at 14, she stayed at school until completion of HSC and was crowned school captain. Her resilience through optimism, skills of resourcefulness, and her can-do attitude shine throughout the interview.

She has a track record of picking the hard tasks; resuscitating the music industry, as the Blue Mountains Music Hunter since 2010, which she founded as a response to a need for increased opportunities for musicians and audiences in the upper Blue Mountains and beyond. The main focus has been to enrich the cultural landscape by curating a wide diversity of music, with excellence being the common denominator, and in so doing contributing to the cohesion of the community. Music Hunter has run over 200 events with audience capacities between 70 and 1500, of course during the Covid pandemic, strict adherence to Government restrictions regarding social distancing and crowd numbers were followed.

The interview is filled with a who’s who of past and current musicians, nuggets of inspiration, and an insight into what makes Meg the resilient and strong woman that she is.
