God chooses Abraham and makes a covenant with him and promises several things. This covenant way back in Genesis has a great impact on our salvation in the New Testament, and in fact becomes the key way that we are saved. God makes a series of promises to Abraham, then repeats the same promises to Isaac and Jacob.
