Dr. Plaut is the Dean of Agriculture at Purdue University and has her PhD in Animal Science from Cornell University. She’s been at Purdue since 2010 and has been the Dean since 2017.
Karen, Sal, and Ryan give a crash course on GMOs including sharing information on the history of GMO crops and their regulations. They’ll also discuss miscommunication and marketing surrounding GMOs, and why proper labeling matters. Dr. Plaut provides insight into the various ways GMOs have contributed to increased yield, crop protection, and how gene editing has impacted the farming industry in positive ways.
