Description

If you are not already bilingual but have a desire to be or would like your kids to be this conversation will definitely inspire you. We talk about the benefits of music in learning a new language and traveling with your kids to foster more connection and empathy.

Amy Rush Conroy is an anthropologist, educator, wife, and mother of three bilingual kids in Los Angeles, California. She is the founder of Habla Blah Blah, a company dedicated to engaging young children with second language learning through song since 2006. Habla Blah Blah was named “Best Children’s Classes” by L.A. Parent Magazine in 2009, and later awarded “Best Children’s Song” and “Best Children’s Songwriter” by the Indie Music Channel in 2016 and 2017. She is a pioneer in the Global Parenting movement and was nominated as a bilingual thought leader by HundreED in 2020.

Amy currently teaches Spanish at the Hollywood Schoolhouse, though she has advocated and implemented second language learning in numerous California elementary schools. Launching the first in a series of Family Travel Trips, Amy will lead five families on an adventure to San Miguel de Allende, MX, that incorporates language, environmental, and service learning with an appreciation for gastronomy, history, and recreation.

Amy received her M.A. in Anthropology from San Francisco State University and B.A. in Sociology from U.C.L.A. She previously worked as a Central American archaeologist before working in media production, and ultimately combined her passion for languages and cultures into edutainment for children.
