Description

On this special episode of The Wellness Breakdown, Eve sets her friend, Andrea, the Wim Hof Challenge. The Wim Hof method is a combination of cold water therapy and breathing exercises. Wim Hof, the man who developed this lifestyle routine, did so as a means to help manage his stress levels, and since then, champions of the routine have claimed it improves your overall feeling of wellbeing, reduces inflammation, and helps your skin. So we wanted to put the Wim Hoff method to the test. Can this combination of breathing exercises, cold water, and meditation, really increase your mindfulness and reduce your stress? Or will our hosts have to pour cold water on the trend? Let’s find out. The Challenge: Andrea will have to take a daily shower of cold water for an increasing number of seconds over one week - beginning at 15 seconds and ending at 1 minute. Andrea will also have a daily routine of breathing exercises for 15 minutes - paying close attention to her mood, energy, and concentration levels.
