About the episodeOn this episode of The Wellness Breakdown, Eve sets Rose a challenge to find out if fermented foods really are worth the gut health hype. Historically, fermenting foods was a practise used as a means to preserve food and drink in the days before refrigeration. But in recent years, fermented foods have made a health comeback. Proponents of fermented foods state that they provide the ‘good bacteria’ needed for a healthy digestive system, and that they aid our sleep and improve our mood. But is this really the case, or is the interest around fermented foods just another fad without the facts to back it up?The challenge: Rose must eat a daily serving of fermented foods for four weeks.
