Meet Juanita Phillips
Survivor. Advocate. Poet.
She survived abuse from 8 perpetrators starting from the age of 3. She tried to get justice by going to court, not once but twice. The first time in the late 90’s and then again in 2017. Juanita felt that not much has changed, within the justice system, it is still not a good experience. A Healing Poem
There she is, our beautiful star, beaming light on me from ever so far.
Warming my body and soothing my mind.
How lucky am I, this peace here to find.
The green field; it beckons, the dog leads the way.
A robin is singing 🎶 let’s hear what the earth has to say 🎶.
My footsteps tread lightly, my soul here it’s free.
Then right here beside me, the mighty oak tree.
Calming my spirit and holding me tight.
Whispering to me “it’ll all be alright”.
The seasons are with us, with you and with me.
Just as the world’s turning, all’s as it should be.
