I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified. 1 Corinthians 14:5
In chapter 14, Paul continues his focus on love. The Corinthians seemed to really enjoy speaking in tongues, but as Paul states, that only edifies the person speaking and nobody else. He wants the whole church and especially the one seeking God, to be blessed, so people should seek to have the gift of prophesy instead. The important take away from this for me is that the people should seek what's best for others, not themselves and that's what it means to "love your neighbor as yourself".
