Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor bears a son, and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites. Micah 5:3
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. Isaiah 11:6

"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert Mark 13:32-33

In keeping with our Advent focus, today's readings cover both the first and second comings of Christ. In addition, there's an admonition to be prepared as nobody knows the exact day or time!

AW Tozer had this thought about our verses in Micah, "At the risk of being thought repetitious I’ll say again that in religion and morals motive comes very near to being everything. It is not what a man does only but why he does it that determines the moral quality of the deed. A deed which on the surface may be good, if done for a selfish reason is actually evil."

This thought process struck my heart and I had to examine so much of my life and actions. It naturally made me examine why I do this podcast. The answer turned out to be pretty simple, because I felt like I was told to and I'm being obedient. Some other actions of mine, especially some "altruistic" or "noble" I had to admit were done for my benefit.

Join me in reading Micah 5:2-5, Isaiah 11:6-10 and Mark 13:32-37 and be encouraged!
