"...walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:2
It isn't always easy to walk in the way of love and live as God wishes, but it doesn't mean we don't try and aren't held to a standard that pleases God.
As Tozer states, "we must meet the present emergency with a spirit of optimism. This is no time for repining, no time for looking backward, no time for self-pity or defeated complaining. We are on the winning side and we cannot lose. “And surely I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20) makes ultimate defeat impossible." Ephesians 5:16
