In James, we see the result of a complete transformation of a person by Jesus's grace. James was Jesus's brother. He didn't believe in Jesus's ministry initially, “For even his own brothers did not believe in him” (Jn 7:5). But what we find in these next 5 chapters is a person who has been transformed by the power of God and what many call, “the Proverbs of the New Testament”.

James is a practical book that challenges us to live out our faith, not to merely speak it. In James, we learn faith as it relates to trials, temptations, tests, the truth of God’s word, the tongue, wisdom, separation from the world, and submission to God.

So join me in reading James 1 and be encouraged!
